A brief history:
Mariner Ship′s Equipment, is a family owned company, that was established in 1976 by Mr.Birol Alpay in Tuzla, Turkey. At once, the company became the leader in the design and production of marine equipments in Turkey. The company′s growing success and reputation was soon noticed by the global shipping industry. By mid-1980′s Mariner Ship′s Equipment had already started producing for the world market. To become a competitor in the global marine equipment industry and to meet increasing customer demand, Mariner established its first international company, Mariner Ship′s Equipment Germany GmbH in Leer in the late 1990′s. As Mariner grew globally, the company simultaneously evolved into a professionally run cooperation employing numerous management professionals, designers, engineers, and service personnel.
As the Asian shipping industry grew stronger, Mariner Ship′s Equipment opened a representative office in Shanghai, China in the year 2000 to meet the new market demand. The rapidly growing number of orders and increasing customer demand, soon required for a more solid presence in the Chinese market. Hence, to provide a complete and more competitive cargo handling solution to the ship-owner, Mariner Ship′s Equipment and Neuenfelder Maschinen Fabrik GmbH, a global leader in cargo handling cranes, decided to join forces in sales and production abilities. Together, these two companies first established a joint sales office in Shanghai. Later, in 2006, Mariner Ship′s Equipment′s first Asian production facility, named NMC (for NMF - Mariner Ship′s Equipment Co Ltd.) , a joint venture with NMF GmbH, was established in Yangzhong, China.
In 2005, Mariner Ship′s Equipment Germany GmbH, was relocated to Jork, near Hamburg. Currently, this company supports Mariner Ship′s Equipment, Turkey in sales and purchasing for the entire group, as well as providing spare parts and service engineering.
Mariner Ship′s Equipment Turkey, located in Tuzla Bay, Istanbul, is responsible for most of the crucial activities of the group such as design, research and development, sales and marketing, production, class society testing and certification, service engineering, and spare parts provision.

Mariner Ship′s Equipment designs and manufactures marine equipments such as: various types of hatch covers, ro-ro equipment, service & provision cranes, winches, and rudder systems.

Since production is carried under the same roof with design, Mariner ensures that the end product is built with the same high standards in both quality and durability. In addition to standard class society tests and owner required testing, Mariner′s in house quality control team tests each single product and component to perfection.
