Based in Cape Town, South Africa, Alto Vida was founded in 2015 by Gert Kotze who now serves as our independent chairman. Alto Vida was started in response to the increased demand for South African fresh produce from countries north of our borders. The initial focus was on building a strong supplier base in South Africa but this has since evolved to having suppliers across Africa and Europe to meet the needs of our customers. We pride ourselves on having an active presence on the ground and thus value time spent in the African countries in which we operate. We know that the key to staying relevant is to have a deep understanding of these markets
